Tip #1 The purpose of your speech is to get results; to help
people make changes and think or act differently. So start with
the end in mind. What do you want people to do as a result of
your speech? What do they need to know to do this? What do they
need to feel to do this?
Tip #2 Show your audience that coaching is a process. It is
different from consulting. Do some coaching (role playing)
during your presentation. Let audience members see what it would
be like to have you as their coach. ...

One of the hardest things for a small business owner to do is to
delegate. Giving up control, trusting employees to get things
done right or even properly identifying tasks that can be
delegated are just a few barriers to proper delegation. Sadly,
I've been in some offices where the owner was printing off 100
letters and getting mailing labels ready while the receptionist
was filing her nails waiting for the phone to ring. Something is
wrong with this picture.
The first two hurdles require ...

Many of my clients own home-based businesses. If that's you, then not only are you committed, passionate and serious about what you do, you are also committed to creating a lifestyle that reflects your values. You want to own your time, and be able to carve out quality time for family and friends. You want to work to live, not live to work, right?
It's often hard to figure out how to use your time effectively when you start a business. If you have small children you may ...

Do you realise that if you're green you're growing and if you're
ripe you're rotten? So says Winston Marsh, Business Marketing
Guru in his recent newsletter.
Here's and excerpt from it ...
"Over the last week or so I have been presenting a series of
seminars for MYOB throughout New Zealand and I have made an
amazing discovery.
Most people would rather service their car than service their
brain!
Now what do I mean by this? Well, quite simply, nobody gives a
second thought to putting their car in ...

If I Were Coaching You'
If I were coaching you as a business, non-profit or association

dollar, I would sum it up for you this way.
Use the fundamental premise of public relations to ...

Myth 1: Marketing is a cost, not an investment
When you spend time and money randomly on marketing, then it
probably is an expense because you're not generating a return on
the resources invested in it. Many people make the mistake of
emulating the marketing tactics of large companies (such as
image advertising) that just don't produce good returns for
small businesses. The fact of the matter is that small
businesses have to produce BETTER marketing than ...

Can Self-Coaching Really Help Your Bottom Line?
The other day I found myself watching one of those ubiquitous
makeover programmes.
The presenter's brief was to transform an entire street. In her
pitch to the residents, she evangelised about the effect the
conversion would have: not only would it make the environment
look better, it would be less prone to vandalism, and, in
addition, it would also lift house prices.
Considering how disparate the neighbours were, the presenter ...

Business owners of long standing know the cardinal rule 'take
care of your existing customers first'. Today especially we see
business owners looking constantly for the new customer. Hey,
did you forget the customers you have. All of us want our
businesses to grow. However, after a number of years, depending
on your business, you might reach a point where your business
starts to taper off. You find you are not getting any new
clients. Before you throw in the towel, realize that you still
have ...

There are many objectives a business coach may be tasked with but perhaps at the end of each objective, the overriding desired results are improvement and growth. Growth on many different levels for the individual receiving the business coaching and ultimately growth and improvement for the business the individual is either a part of or in charge of.
For a working relationship to be successful, a business coach naturally needs to work very closely and trustingly with his or her ...

Imagine being supported in your business by a team that were
reliable, competent, communicated effectively with clients and
colleagues, had heaps of initiative and a great attitude.
No, this is not a pipe dream. It can happen for you. However it
takes an investment of time and energy on your part to create a
strong, supportive and valuable team'It doesn't happen by
osmosis.
In many of my public workshops on How to Have Less Mess, Less
Stress and More Success we often have disgruntled ...
